Umývadlo by malo mať aj v malej kúpeľni šírku aspoň 500 mm. Hĺbka umývadla od steny pritom môže byť len 230 mm lepšie je aspoň 250 mm. Navyše možno použiť aj umývadlo rohové, rovnako ako je tomu v prípade sprchového kúta, vane či WC. Veľmi praktické je zároveň využitie priestoru pod umývadlom. Umývadlo je možné pritom priamo usadiť do skrinky. Získame tak praktické miesto na rôzne predmety, chemikálie či uteráky a podobne. Vhodnejšie je závesné riešenie skrinky, pretože pod ňou potom ľahko vytrieme. Nad umývadlom je nakoniec vhodné umiestniť zrkadlo a ak máme v kúpeľni málo priestoru, je veľmi praktická jeho kombinácia so skrinkou. Samotné zrkadlo potom tvoria jej krídlové otváranie (dve krídla či jedno). A nezabudnite na vhodné osvetlenie zrkadla, obzvlášť tu je intenzívne a nezaujaté osvetlenie veľmi dôležité. Vo väčšej kúpeľni nie je na škodu inštalovať umývadla dve. Početnejšia rodina to určite veľmi ocení.
